So, life has been busy but good :) This school year was great. Juliet has Ms. Cassara for second grade and we had some struggles with her writing and spelling, so John and I asked the school to get her tested to see if she needed extra help. It turns out she has dyslexia (which I am sure John and I both had - undiagnosed). Veterans ES was great through the process but it was a long process and the end result is an IEP that will give her the support she needs.
Caleb had a great school year at St. John's elementary school (we took him out of St. peter's this year) and he loved his teacher and classmates. He adjusted to full day school after about the first month of school. He made good friends and his teacher suggested we send him to kindergarten. We were thinking about holding him back since he will be the youngest in the school but he seems to be ready according to his teacher!
Both kids are in summer institute this summer to give them a little more school practice. Caleb is in get ready for kindergarten and Juliet is in get ready for 3rd grade! They both made friends fast and only complained a little about going.
Here are some picture to catch up on some highlights in 2017-18
This is the first time Caleb sat on Santa's lap and smiled! It took him a couple more year's than Juliet to be comfortable with the bearded guy!
Caleb has always loved his Mama! He pretty much has never been in his own room sleeping alone... He now sleeps on the futon in our room. I figure when he is a teenage he won't want to sleep in his mom's room, right? We shall see!
We spend some of our last few days at Brian & Missy's Cabin! The kids love it there and have so much fun, we love this little get away. The kids are always look for Deer and enjoying nature.
Juliet the Cheerleader! Juliet did an after school cheerleading program this year in school where she got to perform at Mt. Hebron High school. She now says cheerleading is not for her but at least I got to see her do it once!!!
We spend New Year's 2018 at the Abernathy's house. They are now moving to North Carolina so this will be the last New Year's at there house for the foreseeable future :(
As you can see the food was good!
We spend the beginning of 2018 in California for some much needed sunshine! It was a visit that reminded me that I love photography! I enjoyed the family time and the vibrant colors of California, have always felt connect to this special place! My parents were with us and we visited my brother and our friend Joey.
Another big event was John turned 40 in March of 2018!!! We celebrated by taking some friends to the ropes course at Terripin Adventures. It was scarier than I thought it would be and we all had a great time!
In April of 2018, I survived the rain and the wind and ran my first Boston Marathon! I cried like a baby at the finish line! It was an accomplishment that I am very proud of!
We had a big adult trip this year! We went to Portugal with our friends Krista and Joe. It was an amazing trip and we are super thankful the my parents and Barb for watching the kids while we had an adventure!
Caleb is currently obsessed with Beanie Boo's! Here is his collection!
